We arrived home from Palm Springs Wednesday, March 18th, without incident. It took us 3 nights and 4 days of travel, and with the exception of some typical March wind, our trip was fairly uneventful. As usual, we were tired but happy to be home and sleeping in a king size bed. Of course the dogs were trilled to run loose in their yard and house. Once we unloaded and put the rv back in storage we collapsed for a couple of days and took advantage of some necessary rest.
Here's a new cute picture of our chihuahuas, Tia and Timi.
Our last week in the desert was tons of fun and very busy. We celebrated my birthday at the Crab Pot in La Quinta and had an excellent dinner, not to mention a couple of good cocktails. They also served birthday cake for the four of us (Steve's sister and brother-in-law joined us) and enough still to take home. Steve and I spent the day at Indian Wells ATP tennis championships and had a great time. We also visited with my first cousin Mary Jane and her husband Jim. They are such a nice couple and I am thrilled to have found them several years ago. They too have a winter place in the desert and ironically turned out to be right next door to us. I had not met Mary Jane until 2005. My other first cousin Nancy, passed away last March unexpectedly and we really missed not seeing her this year. We did, however, get together with her husband Mack and are so glad he is doing well. The next 2 days were spent packing up and saying goodbye for another year.
We have our work cut our for ourselves in the yard in preparation for summer. Most of the leaves are budding on the trees and the daffodils are up and ready to bloom. Our lawn looks a little sad since we had a pretty cold winter along with lots of snow, so we will have to give more care to restore it to normal this year. Not a problem since we both love to garden.
Kristen will be visiting in the next week or so and we will see Stephanie and family in May over Mother's Day. Alexis and I will be taking an Alaska cruise the end of June and I'm really looking forward to time alone with her. She will be 17 next month and I'm sure it will be hard to arrange time with her once she hits 18 and is off to college. Steve and Curtis are talking about a fun trip somewhere for their special time, but as yet Curtis hasn't given us the word. I'm sure it will have something to do with bowling. It will be way down the road for a special trip with Norine, but I am confident that it will happen too.
