Our winter season in Palm Springs is almost over and I have to admit to slight
homesickness at this point. We have been here just short of 5 months, and while it's fun and wonderful here, home is starting to sound really good. I guess springtime brings some of those feelings up and we both enjoy watching things in our yard bloom. We will start our journey home in about 2 weeks and hope the snow has ceased in the mountain passes by then.
We have been very busy the last few weeks with company and good times with friends and family. We saw Steph, Alexis and Norine while Alexis was home for a short break over president's weekend. My sister Kristen and her husband Steve came through on their way home and spent 4 days here. We barbecued, went to bingo at the casino and had a good catch-up visit. The following week our good friends Bill and Candy came over from Bullhead City and spent a couple of days with us. We celebrated an early b-day for me and had a great time. Last saturday was my 60th birthday so I decided to throw a party for myself on our patio. It was a wonderful day with 20 guests to help celebrate this totally new idea of being 60! Below is my cake provided my my sister-in-law Claudia. She also brought a bouquet of birthday balloons......very special.
This is a shot of our friends on our patio at the party. What a great day!
Curtis came over from Phoenix last month and bowled in a big tournament in Cabazon (near here) and did very well. He placed 4th overall and had high game on Sunday. Below is a picture of the new shirt that I lettered with his name for him. He is a little camera shy but I managed a couple of good shots.
Our trip to the Price is Right last month was really fun but tiring for us. There were about 40 of us from our resort at the taping and one guy from our group got into contestants row and up on stage. He didn't win a lot but had a great time. Overall, we have had a great season here and are looking forward to next winter in 2011-12.
